Christ the King: the Blessed Sacrament carried through Pinelands

On Sunday 25 October, the Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King, Father Keiser carried the Blessed Sacrament in procession around the park across from the chapel.

Pope Pius XI instituted the feast in 1925 with his encyclical Quas Primas, decreeing that it be kept every year on the last Sunday of October. Its yearly celebration, he wrote, would remind nations that rulers are bound to give public honour and obedience to Christ, and that He must reign in our minds, our wills, our hearts and our bodies.

A Eucharistic procession is that faith made public: Our Lord, truly present in the Sacred Host, carried through the streets of the town He came to save.

Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christus imperat

Thank you to everyone who took part.
